The campus will be designed to bring together expertise from multiple government departments, with the region already home to over 35,000 civil servants.
Altogether, the government aims to use the hub to invest at least £725bn in public infrastructure over the next decade.
This will feature expertise from the Department of Transport, Cabinet Officer and Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

The National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority will lead the development of the campus and appoint a senior civil servant to be based in Birmingham as project director.
The West Midlands campus will follow the success of others, such as the Darlington Economic Campus that led to around 1,000 high-skilled jobs being created.
“We’ve promised to build 1.5 million homes this parliament, and that means doing things differently,” said housing secretary Steve Reed.
“This campus brings together the people and expertise we need to cut through the barriers and help us get Britain building.”
